Global Cuisine, comfort food around the globe!

Chennai’s Tryst With Global Cuisine

  • The Global Food Culture

Globalization has bought the countries of the world together, with advances in transportation and communication, the process of interaction and integration between different communities of the world is accelerating like never before.

This has bought the global community closer, making it easier sharing trade, ideas, beliefs, culture, and cuisine. The diversity of Indian cuisine is recognized around the world, Indian restaurants functioning overseas have greatly contributed in popularizing Indian cuisine.

Likewise, global cuisine is no longer beyond the reach of the people of this country. Not very long ago, global cuisine was a domain of star hotels in our country.

  • Exotic Global Cuisine

If a gourmet in Chennai wanted to experience the thrills of exotic global cuisine, the only choice available then were handful of Chinese restaurants, Pizza or Burger eateries.

Beyond that for instance, authentic Mexican, Thai, Japanese or other global fares were only possible to experience in five star hotels. The restaurants were setup for international guests that stayed in the hotel.

We’ve gone way beyond those times, at ‘The Mayflower’ for instance we serve the most authentic Pan Asian & European Cuisine in true Bohemian ambience.

  • Cosy Bohemian Ambience

If you are unfamiliar with what ‘Bohemian’ implies, it typically means an artist, a literary man, or actor, who lives a free lifestyle, and despises conventions.

Bohemian design signifies randomness, devoid of structure or order. In a true sense our ambience is typically Bohemian, and our cuisine authentically Pan Asian and European in every aspect.

We’ve created the Bohemian ambience to enhance the dining experience of our guest.

We perceive ambience plays a significant role, together with exotic cuisine, and exceptional service.

Appetizing

Pan Asian & European Cuisine

Pan Asian cuisine has a great influence on the world palate, under its aegis, cuisine from China, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Burma, Indonesia and off course India are the dominant front runners, with cuisine from other countries of the region too getting the recognition in the global arena.

In the Pan Asian segment,  ‘The Mayflower’  menu carries an exotic range of cuisine with flavors as authentic as the land they originate from. Notably ‘Dim Sums’ for example, have the same flavors as the ones served in the restaurants of Hong Kong. The same preparation techniques, identical herbs, and condiments are used to maintain the true flavors of the starter.

The flavors and condiments are usually sourced from these countries as far as possible to maintain their authentic flavors. In rarest of cases we use local flavors if sourcing them from the country of origin is not available.

Indigenous Flavors With Exceptional Taste

In the Main Course segment of our Pan Asian menu, Thai Green Curry, Burmese Khow Suey or Indonesian Mee Goreng,  most of the herbs that are added to these specialties come from the country they  originate.

Our chefs passionately try to maintain their authentic flavors, to the extent that if someone were to compare them with the food served in these countries, it will be a tough task  determining the difference.

Similarly, the European segment of the menu has Italian cuisine, with Garden Lasagne  and BBQ Chicken Steak, among the prominent ones that get the most attention from our dine-in customers.

The Lasagne Sheets/Noodles, Ricotta Cheese, and Mozzarella Cheese that are the main ingredients of Garden Lasagne are directly sourced from Rome.

Likewise, the Barbecue Sauce or BBQ sauce, as it is known,  comes from the United States, we use this sauce as a marinade and topping for the chicken steak made in the BBQ .
