ALL DAY BREAKFAST
Greet the new day with a sumptuous breakfast. It’s one way to kick-start your metabolism, and replenish your energy levels after a period of overnight fasting. The rigors of the day have to be met with peak energy levels, and a good breakfast fulfills that criteria. Listening to our ‘hunger cues’ first thing in the morning, each of us has a craving for a healthy breakfast the moment we get off our beds.
Studies by health experts now and then reiterate that eating breakfast is good for the health, it eliminates ‘bad’ LDL cholesterol and lowers the risk of getting diabetes, heart disease, and most importantly it prevents us from being overweight. Skipping breakfast on the other hand, the studies point out, upsets the body’s rhythm of fasting and eating. When you wake up in the morning, the blood sugar levels are the lowest, a healthy breakfast restores the levels, helping the body to make the muscles and brain work their best.
The Americans love their breakfast, it typically consists of eggs, beacons, cereal, baked foods like muffins and donuts. In keeping with the busy mornings, certainly its the best breakfast you can have, along with a steaming cup of coffee, tea or orange juice, you don’t feel the need to eat anything until lunch time. Same goes for the English breakfast of fried eggs, crispy pepperoni or hash browns, with grilled mushrooms and tomatoes, toasts, juice and coffee, it’s wonderfully filling, making you feel replenished and recharged.
So for the body to help the muscles and brain to stay tuned all day, the value of breakfast should never be undermined.
